Simple workflow
Paste the generated HTTPS route into supported Notion text, image, or button link fields.
URLTracker with Notion
Create a campaign-specific URLTracker route, place it in Notion, test the delivered message, and analyze acquisition without claiming a native account connection.
Paste the generated HTTPS route into supported Notion text, image, or button link fields.
Compare public knowledge pages, campaign briefs, resource directories with separate routes or content labels.
Inspect recognized email-security and preview requests apart from human-focused activity.
Evaluate eligible clicks alongside supported registrations, purchases, bookings, and value.
SECTION 01
A URLTracker HTTPS route can be placed as ordinary linked text, a web bookmark, or a link mention on an appropriately shared Notion page. This is a publishing workflow and does not grant URLTracker access to the workspace. This workflow does not require URLTracker to request access to your Notion account. Create the destination and tracking route in URLTracker, then place the resulting HTTPS address into a supported link field in your campaign editor.
The redirect records permitted request context and forwards the browser to the configured destination. URLTracker can organize time, estimated unique activity, available referrer and campaign labels, device and software patterns, approximate network geography, recognized automation, and supported outcomes. It cannot read an inbox, inspect private message content, or verify a recipient’s identity.
SECTION 02
Create separate routes when you need to compare public knowledge pages, campaign briefs, resource directories, client portals, team playbooks. If two placements will always share a destination and never support different decisions, one route may keep reporting simpler. Use a clear internal name containing the programme, message, placement, and launch period.
Apply a documented UTM pattern such as the sending programme for utm_source, email for utm_medium, the initiative for utm_campaign, and the specific button or section for utm_content. Keep subscriber names, email addresses, list membership, and private CRM attributes out of public URLs.
SECTION 03
Notion documents that public web URLs can be pasted as bookmarks or link mentions and may display source metadata and previews. Preview services and readers can therefore request a route in ways that do not represent a deliberate destination visit. This can create a redirect chain or automated request that differs from a direct browser test. Mailbox providers, corporate gateways, and anti-phishing products can also request the URL before or after delivery.
URLTracker separates recognized automation where possible, but no classifier is perfect. A click total is not proof that every event came from a reader, and email-open pixels are affected by image blocking, caching, and proxying. Use campaign context, timing, devices, repeated patterns, and downstream outcomes together.
SECTION 04
Open the published page with the same permissions as the intended reader, test the route outside the editor, and ensure private workspace content is not exposed through the destination or preview metadata. Confirm the visible call to action matches the destination, the route uses HTTPS, required UTMs survive every redirect, and mobile visitors reach a fast page. Do not wait until a full-list send to discover that an editor, template, or security layer changed the journey.
After launch, compare eligible clicks, unique estimates, placement, device context, conversions, and value with a consistent date range. Notion and URLTracker may report different totals because their rewrite layers, bot rules, identities, retention, and time zones differ. Reconcile important outcomes with the authoritative business system rather than forcing unlike numbers to match.
SECTION 05
Send only expected communications to an appropriately permissioned audience, identify the sender, and preserve required preference and unsubscribe journeys. Avoid misleading anchor text or a branded route that disguises the true purpose of the destination. A short link should improve management and attribution, not reduce accountability.
Use the minimum data necessary, restrict event exports, establish retention, and document how campaign analytics are used. Test domain reputation and delivery with the real sending configuration. When both Notion and URLTracker add redirect measurement, assess whether the extra layer is appropriate for the campaign and audience.
Step by step
Prepare the final mobile-friendly HTTPS page and define the qualified outcome.
Add the internal name, domain, short code, and approved source, medium, campaign, and content values.
Paste the complete tracking URL into the supported button, image, or text link field.
Test after platform rewriting, inspect automated requests, and verify the final destination and conversion.
Frequently asked questions
No account authorization is required for this workflow. Create the link in URLTracker and place it in a supported Notion URL field.
It may add its own measurement or safety redirect depending on configuration. Test a delivered message because a builder preview may not use the same path.
Email-security systems and preview services may request URLs automatically. Review recognized automation separately and use conversions for quality context.
Only separate placements you need to compare, manage, or attribute independently.
Avoid personal or sensitive data in URLs. Use an appropriately protected, disclosed, and authorized system when recipient-level processing is genuinely required.
Use the complete URLTracker analytics workspace during launch. No credit card is required.
